Wick has participated in the alternative dispute resolution (ADR)
process since 1977. She
is
an experienced, registered mediator with the Georgia
Office of Dispute Resolution and is certified by the Better
Business Bureau to arbitrate consumer cases.
Ms. Wick has assisted parties with resolving over 350
disputes involving areas such as:
Business relationships, commercial, construction, contracts,
corporate, domestic relations (divorce and custody), employment
law, insurance, labor/management, personal injury, probate (wills,
trusts, and estates), professional liability/malpractice,
property, other general civil matters..
In addition
to accepting private appointments nationwide, Ms. Wick is
certified to be selected by the parties and appointed to cases by
courts in the following ADR programs representing 40 counties in
Georgia: Clayton
Judicial Circuit; Cobb Judicial Circuit; Dekalb Judicial Circuit; Fulton County
Landlord-Tenant Program; Gwinnett Judicial Circuit; Sixth Judicial
Administrative District; Seventh Judicial Administrative District;
and the Ninth Judicial Administrative District.
She has completed advanced mediation training in the areas
of Negotiation, Juvenile Mediation, and Domestic Violence.
As an
attorney practicing primarily in labor and employment law and a
former human resources professional, Ms. Wick’s background
provides her with knowledge and experience in many industries and
opportunities for interaction with persons at all levels and
stages of their lives. She
now limits her practice of law to cases involving Labor Relations;
Equal Employment Opportunity;
Immigration; Affirmative Action; Wage and Hour;
Disabilities; Substance Abuse; Contracts; Corporations; Business;
and Administrative Law.
Ms. Wick
has further assisted numerous companies with containing legal and
litigation costs, increase employee productivity, and improve
workplace satisfaction through designing and developing in-house
mediation programs.
She has
taught English, served as Corporate Counsel to a Fortune 500
company, been a partner in a boutique law
firm, and has experienced the challenges and joys of owning a
small business.
Ms. Wick is
a Trainer for the Mediation Training Institute and Atlanta
Divorce Mediators, Inc. and also presents programs in various court programs with which she is associated.
She
is an active member of the Association for Conflict Resolution
and the American,
Georgia, Kansas and Atlanta Bar
Associations.
